Seawater into freshwater.
INDIA Big success of DRDO , Developed indigenous technology to convert seawater into freshwater.
INDIAN DRDO has succeeded in developing the technology to convert seawater into freshwater. The special thing is that DRDO has developed this technology in just a short time of 8 months.
Details:-
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has achieved a major success. DRDO has succeeded in developing indigenous nanoporous multilayered polymer membrane. This is a technology to convert sea water into fresh water. This will greatly benefit the Indian Coast Guard.
Testing is still going on
DRDO's Kanpur-based Defense Material Stores and Research and Development Lab has developed this nanoporous multilayered polymer membrane in collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard. The special thing is that this membrane has been manufactured in a record eight months. Currently, this technology is being tested in the seawater conversion plant on the Coast Guard's offshore patrolling vessel. So far, satisfactory results have been obtained in the tests. However, to approve this technology, the Coast Guard will conduct at least 500 hours of operational testing. This is considered an important step towards self-reliant India.
